How to apply for a place

In 2015, all parents who submitted the forms on time and who put Venerable Bede CE Academy as their first choice were offered a place.

Venerable Bede is inclusive and all children are welcome.

We are a neibourhood academy; open to all.

You do not need to be baptised or be a practising Christian to apply for a place.

All children who apply will be offered a place unless the academy is oversubscribed.

You do not have to live in the immediate area to apply for a place.

Simply complete a Local Authority Common Application Form (CAF) and return to the Civic Centre Admissions Team or apply online at www.sunderland.gov.uk (opens in a new window/tab).

If your child is already of secondary school age and you would like them to transfer to Venerable Bede CE Academy, please complete a transfer application form from your current school and apply to school.admissions@sunderland.gov.uk. Once we recieve the application we will contact you to invite you into school and discuss how we can support you through this straightforward process. Any queries regarding this contact us on (0191) 5239745.

Please contact the school if you would like to arrange a visit.

Recent Inspections

Congratulations to our students, staff, governors and families on two fantastic inspections,

each lasting two days! Ofsted were the first to visit under the New Framework in January this year, closely followed by a SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools). Judged from Good to Outstanding in all categories.:

Most of all, we pride ourselves on being inclusive; a neighbourhood school, open to all. See our new Admissions Policy or simply give us a ring and we’ll show you around.
