18.04.2012. SIAS Inspection

Dear Parents/Carers

All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the National Society's framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. The Venerable Bede School was inspected in March 2012!

Here are only some of the headline comments that sum up the findings of the Inspectors:

“The distinctiveness and effectiveness of the Venerable Bede Church of England Aided Comprehensive School as a Church of England school are outstanding”
“Established strengths”
“The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners”
“The impact of collective worship on the school community is outstanding”
“The effectiveness of the religious education is outstanding”
“The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school is outstanding”

We could not have achieved this without your support and co-operation. I will be personally thanking the students for their excellent attitude and I am very proud of them all.

Good wishes,

Recent Inspections

Congratulations to our students, staff, governors and families on two fantastic inspections,

each lasting two days! Ofsted were the first to visit under the New Framework in January this year, closely followed by a SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools). Judged from Good to Outstanding in all categories.:

Most of all, we pride ourselves on being inclusive; a neighbourhood school, open to all. See our new Admissions Policy or simply give us a ring and we’ll show you around.
