Venerable Bede Academy - Pupil Premium

What Is It?

The Government provides Pupil Premium funding which is additional to main school funding. Its purpose is to help address national inequalities between the achievements of children eligible for free school meals or children in care when compared with their wealthier peers.

Who Is Entitled to Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is allocated to schools based on the following criteria:

  • Those pupils known to be eligible for free school meals either currently or at any point within the last six years – FSME6
  • Children who are looked after
  • Children who have a parent in the armed forces

Recent Inspections

Congratulations to our students, staff, governors and families on two fantastic inspections,

each lasting two days! Ofsted were the first to visit under the New Framework in January this year, closely followed by a SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools). Judged from Good to Outstanding in all categories.:

Most of all, we pride ourselves on being inclusive; a neighbourhood school, open to all. See our new Admissions Policy or simply give us a ring and we’ll show you around.
