About Our Academy

Values

We are a church of England Academy and pride ourselves on our Christian ethos, which is underpinned by five values, each of these values is explored as a theme in each year group;

Wisdom Year 10
Perseverance Year 11

Expectations

 We have three simple expectations of all our pupils.

These expectations are consistently applied and form the basis of our rewards and sanctions. 

Year Groups

The Venerable Bede CE Academy is divided into 5 year groups and there are 5 Heads of Year. All pupils in Years 7 – 11 wear the same uniform, but there are some exceptions:

  • Year 11 Prefects wear purple ties
  • The Head Boy and Head Girl wear gold ties
  • The Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl wear gold ties.

Each year-group is supported by a team of tutors which is led by a Head of Year.
